Investigations on Fatty Acid Compositions of Summer Rapeseed Varieties (Brassica napus L. ssp. oleifera Metzg)

Abstract :In this study, fatty acid compositions of five summer varieties of \\\"00\\\" type rapeseed (Westar, Cesar, Drakkar, Loras and Proto-87) which adapted in Ankara and Konya were investigated by GLC. In the fatty acid compositions of Westar, Cesar and Loras, erusic acids were found 0.46-2.68%. In the fatty acid compositions of Drakkar and Proto-87, erusic acid, however, was not showed. In the fatty acid compositions of all varieties, major fatty acids, oleic, linoleic and linolenic acids were respectively determinated 42.88-63.32%, 1.31-21.10% and 1.49-8.63%. However, other fatty acids in the fatty acid composition of all varieties were found as minor varing degrees.
