The Effects of Sowing Dates on Grain Yield, Yield Components and Quality Properties of Some Winter Rapeseed Varieties (Brassica napus L. ssp. oleifera)

Abstract :This research was conducted to determine the effects of six different sowing dates (27 August, 6 September, 15 September, 26 September, 4 October, 14 October) on the grain yield, quality and some morphological of six different winter rapeseed varieties (\\\"Falcon\\\", \\\"Ceres\\\", \\\"Ariana\\\", \\\"Corvette\\\", \\\"Bienvenu\\\", \\\"Jet-9\\\") without erusic acid. This research was arranged in the \\\"split plots\\\" experimental design with three replications in 1993-1994 under not irrigated conditions of Konya. As the mean of varieties, the highest grain yield (188.78 kg.da-1) was obtained from first sowing date (27 August). As the mean of sowing dates, the highest grain yield was obtained from \\\"Falcon\\\" variety (164.11 kg.da-1). In this research was obtained from first sowing date the highest fatty yield (74.11 kg.da-1) as well. Statistically significant differences were not found among varieties, however, were found among sowing dates.
