Clay Mineralogy of Akşehir Vicinity Soils

Abstract :Three profiles representing Calcerous Brown Great Soil Group of Akşehir vicinity were described. Some morphological, physical and biological properties of this great soil group were determined in the field studies. Representative fourteen soil samples were obtained from soil horizons of these profiles. Clay minerals of the samples were detected by Rigaku X-Ray Difractometer. According to the analyses results, clay minerals existed in the samples were determined as illite, chlorite, montmorillonite, palygorskite and mixed layer clay minerals.
