Research on Selection of Apricots Which Resistance to Late Spring Frost and Good Quality in Konya

Abstract :Turkey export dried apricots more than 44.000 tones per year. In some years apricot production in Turkey fluctuates due to late spring frost. In this study resistance to late spring frost pomological and phenological charecteristics were studied in apricot population in Konya at 1995-1996. Types resistance to late spring frost were selected at 1027m. The lowest temperature at flowerbuds time was -6°C and fullblooming time was 5°C in 1995. In this year 7 apricot types were selected which shown greates resistance to \\\'late spring frost and good quality. In this types, average fruit weigth between 23,00 g and 67,59 g, seed weigth between 1,70g and 4,14 g, and soluble solid content between 10,35% and 20%.
