The Research on The Vegetative Growth of Some Selected Summer Type Apples on MM106 Rootstocks İn Konya Ecological Conditions

Abstract :In this study, 12 summer type apples selected previously were grafted on MM 106 rootstocks to investigate the vegetative growth during the periods 1997-1998 in Konya. Having grafted them in Yalova Atatürk Central Horticultural Research Institute on MM106 rootstocks in 1995, they were planted to orchard in 1997. This investigation covered determination of stem length, stem diameter, shoot length, shoot diameter, shoot number with leaf area, leaf length and leaf width. As a result; The first part of this research showed that the shoot length of one year old shoots were between 11,85 cm (E-3) and 28,83 cm (E-4), the shoot diameter of one year old shoots were between 3,82 mm (KP-1) and 6,70 mm (A-9). The stem diameter were found between 13,95 mm (KP-1) and 19,72 mm (BŞ-5)..
