Abstract :In this study, some production characteristics of Simmental X highly upgraded Brown Swiss crosses of Eastern Anatolian Red raised in the Experimental Farm of Atatürk University were investigated. Least squares means with their standard errors for calving interval, service period, gestation length and birth weight were obtained as 431.8±38.0 days, 159.1±45.2 days, 287.6±1.8 days and 32.4±1.3 kg respectively. The effect of calving year on the birth weight was highly significant (P < 0.01) Also, age of cow had significant (P < 0.05) effects on the birth weight and gestation length. The effects of caiving season and sex of calf on the calving interval and birth weight were found to be significant (P < 0.05) .
