Diallel Analysis of Quality Traits in Some Durum Wheat (T. durum Desf.) Crosses

Abstract :In this study, The inheritance of various quality traits in the population of 4x4 full diallel crosses of the three varieties and one line in durun wheat were investigated. In this research; thousand kernel weight, vitreous kernel count, protein ratio, and ash ratio were observed in all parents and their hybrid progenies. Non-additive gene actions were found to be significant for all traits observed. GCA effects were obtained to be significant for protein ratio in Kızıltan-91 cultivar; for vitreous kernel count in Çakmak-79 cultivar; also for thousand kernel weight, vitreous kernel count, and protein ratio in the BDMM line. The hybrid combinations which had significant heterosis and heterobetiosis effects were found for all traits observed. The average narrow-sense heritability values were 0.42, 0.09, 0.22, and 0.24, for thousand kernel weight, vitreous kernel count, protein ratio, and ash ratio respectively.Keywords : Diallel analiz, makarnalık buğday, kalite özellikleri, GKK, ÖKK, resiprokal etki, kalıtın derecesi, heterosis, heterobeltiosis.
