MICROSTRUCTURES AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF Al85Ni12.5Si2.5 ALLOY

Abstract :This study produced Al 85 Ni 12.5 Si 2.5 alloy by arc melting method. This alloy was annealed at four different temperatures insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(200 º C, 300 º C, 400 º C, 500 º C);. After annealing alloys analyzes were performed for microstructural, mechanical and thermal behaviour properties of X-ray diffraction insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(XRD);, scanning electron microscopy insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SEM); and differential thermal analysis insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(DTA);.  The XRD results crystalline phases a -Al, Si, Al 3 Ni and Al 3 Ni 2 were detected . The SEM investigations showed the formation of a -Al, Si and Al 3 Ni . The DTA curves the melting point temperature of  Al 3 Ni  is to be as 574.8 º C. Mechanical properties of the as-cast and subsequently the micro hardness values of sample annealed at 300 º C, 400 and 500 º C were 135.8, 135.2 and 130 HV respectively.
