F or th i s purp o se a surv e y stu d y w a s c ondu c ted in 2 01 2 - 2013 a nd 129 plant t i ssue s a mp l e s w e r e c ol l ec ted from symptomatic trees. As a r e sult of surv e y stud i e s, b ac te r ial c a nk e r was d e te r m i n e d in a ll o r c h a rds and dis e a s e s pr e v a le n c e r a te of b a c te r ial ca nk e r w a s d e te r m i n e d as 20 - 57 % . S e v e ri t y of d ise a se was me a su r e d as 20 - 85% in T e kir d a ğ P r ovince d e p e nding on o r c h a rds. As a r e sult of l a bor a to r y stud i e s 41 b ac te r ial iso l a tes of Ps e u domonas s y ringae w e r e obtain e d. As a r e sult of c l a ss i ca l a nd mo l ec ul a r identifi ca t i on tests, 23 iso la tes w e re identifi e d a s P s e udomonas s y ringae pv. morsprunorum a nd 18 out of 41 iso l a tes w e r e identified a s a P s e udo m onas s y ringae pv. s y ringae .
