Abstract :This study aims to examine the content of urban geography education in geography departments in Turkey. It aims to be a comprehensive evaluation of urban geography education and a guide for future geography studies. Urban geography is a discipline that analyzes human activities in physical space and explains the social, economic and environmental dynamics of cities with a methodological approach. The importance of the research is that it evaluates how urban geography education is given in geography departments in Turkey, the history of the courses and the current conditions. As material, the course curricula of geography departments in the faculties of Arts and Sciences, geography departments in the faculties where geography departments are located, and geography departments in the institutes of social sciences were examined, textbooks, curricula and other academic sources on urban geography were used. As a method, the contents of urban geography courses were analyzed and topics such as historical evolution, urban planning, urban sociology, economics, environment-city relationship, geopolitics and geographical information systems were evaluated. In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical training methods, field studies and internship opportunities were also analyzed. The findings revealed that urban geography courses offer a comprehensive content, balancing theoretical knowledge and practical learning opportunities. As a result, it is concluded that geography education in Turkey offers a wide range of urban geography courses.
