Abstract :Kronik otitis media cerrahi tedavisinde özellikle de kolesteatomlu olgularda ameliyat sırasında ya da sonrasında cerrahiye ait çeşitli komplikasyon- lar görülebilir. Kliniğimizde, kolesteatomlu kronik otit nedeniyle kademeli canal-wall down ameliyatı uygulanan bir olguda, ameliyat sırasında iyatrojenik olarak tegmen timpani bölgesindeki dural plate’de 0.5x0.5 cm’lik defekt meydana geldi. Bu yazıda, ameliyat sonrası birinci ayda onarılmayan dural plate defekti mevcutken erken ameliyat sonrası dönemde ortaya çıkan enfeksiyonun, epidural apseyle birlikte ensefalosel gelişmesine neden olduğu nadir bir olgu literatür ışığında sunuldu
