Abstract :There has been considerable progress in recent years in determining stellar masses of galaxies. In this talk, I discuss various methods and their uncertainties. In particular, I will discuss the stellar masses that one can obtain from near-infrared imaging and spectroscopy, through stellar population synthesis.
