Abstract :Background The aim of the present study was the estimation of serum paraoxonase insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PON1); activity in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SARS-CoV-2);. Material and Methods In this cross-sectional study we estimated serum paraoxonase activity in 73 patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection and 73 healthy controls. Results The results showed that PON1 activity was significantly decreased in patients with SARS-CoV-2 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1.30±0.55 kU/L); than in healthy controls insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1.913±0.48 kU/L, p<0.05);. In addition, we found that the levels ALT/AST, bilirubin, creatinine, and urea tests were significantly increased in patients with SARS-CoV-2 than in normal subjects insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.05);. Multivariate logistic regression reveals that PON1 activity is independently associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Conclusions SARS-CoV-2 may decrease the PON1 activity in patients which needs more clarification. Keywords : Paraoxonase PON, Severe acute respiratory syndrome Coronaviruse 2 SARS CoV 2, High density lipoprotein HDL,
