Abstract :Today, with the development of information and communication technologies, online platforms have become one of most important means of communication for individuals. The security and privacy of users\\\' personal data in online platforms where users intensively share information is of paramount importance. In view of this, the current study seeks to examine online privacy awareness of university students. In line with this, this study aims to determine the level of awareness of students about this issue and to determine whether there is a significant difference in privacy awareness in terms of some demographic variables. With this aim in mind, the study data were collected from 282 students older than 18 studying at Gümüşhane University Faculty of Communication using the purposeful sampling method. The analysis of the data collected indicated that the online awareness levels of the participants are high.
