Assessment Approaches In Virtual Learning

Abstract :Today, the traditional assessment methods are not enough for measuring students’ ability. Internet and its technologies have a strong impact to change it and there are some new ways to measure students’ ability and knowledge. This article identifies some assessment methods and tools in online education and describes findings that show the importance of online assessment and online technologies. It also describes some advantages and disadvantages of new methods of assessment. Additionally this article review some valuable effects of using new methods such as e-portfolios, online self and peer-assessment in providing in time and good feedback for student, increasing students’ participation, improving students learning achievement and increasing their abilities in this area.
