Abstract :Keneler birçok patojenin vektörlüğünde rol oynadıkları için veteriner hekimlikte önemli kabul edilirler. Bu çalışma bir kızıl şahinde görülen kene enfestasyonu üzerine yürütülmüştür. Van’da Temmuz 2010 yılında veteriner cerrahi kliniğine yaralanma şikâyetiyle getirilen kızıl şahinin göz çevresinde 11 ergin dişi kene toplandı. Stereo mikroskop altında incelenen kenelerin Rhipicephalus turanicus türü olduğu teşhis edilmiştir. Rhipicephalus turanicus bu çalışmayla Türkiye’de, kızıl şahinde ilk kez tespit edilmiştir
