Abstract :The ancient place that in our days is called Kapıkaya is situated in northern Pisidia, in the region of Isparta and in the southeast of Sagalassos on a mountain slope at a height of 1.300 - 1.400 metres. One of the largest and best preserved buildings of Kapıkaya is “Bau 1”. It marks the southwest border of the agora of that ancient place and is most probably a market building. An unusual decoration of the building are weapon reliefs on its northern façade. This seems not to be attested in other market buildings of Asia Minor. This paper is dealing with the problem of dating the market building by the weapon reliefs and the meaning of the relief blocks at the market building façade. Keywords : Pisidia, Kapıkaya, agora, market building, weapon relief, weapon frieze
