Abstract :1820 yılında Jean Nicolas Huyot’nun Magnesia’yı ziyareti sırasında yapmış olduğu stadion’a ilişkin ilk çizimler ve notlar, Fransa Ulusal Kütüphanesi’nin El Yazmaları Bölümü’nde saklanmaktadır1 . Stadion konusunda en erken tarihli yayını, 1824 yılında William Martin Leake gerçekleştirmiştir2 . Leake bu tanıtımında, Artemis Tapınağı ve kent surunun yanı sıra tiyatro ve stadion’dan söz etmiş ve stadion’u iki sphendone’lı ve Tralleis, Aphrodisias, Laodikeia ad Lycum ve Pergamon stadion’ları gibi tiyatroya bağlı bir yapı olarak tanımlamıştır.
