Abstract :Wachrcnd eines Besuches, den ich mit meiner Familie anlaesslich der Ecsttagc zwischen dem 14.-20. Mai 1962 in Amasya abstattete, maehte mich Herr Fethi Tansuk, der Vali von Amasya, auf eine hethitisehe Statuctttc aufmerksam, die in der Biliothck der Bayezid Külliyesi aufbewahrt wurdc. leh untersuchte die Statuctttc und das da- mit zusammen gefundene hethitisehe Sicgcl. Die dicke Rostschicht, die auf beiden Wcrken lag, hatte beinahe aile Details verdeckt. Sehon beim ersten Blick merkte man, dass es sich bei der Statuettic um ein erstkIassiges grossreichszeitliches Kunstwcrk handelte.
