Abstract :Zu dicscm Thema bin ich einmal durch neue Ausgrabungen mit Uberrestcn von “megara” in der Türkci und in Nordsyrien angeregt worden, die nach Zahi und Verbrcitung ein neues Bild auf die Ent- stehung und Herkunft dicscs Gebâudetyps wcrfcn. Zum andcrcn fühltc ich mich zu eincr Stcllungnahme durch eincn Satz von Hcinrich Drcrup, Ordinarius für Klassische Archâologic in Marburg, in seinem Bcitrag zur Archaeologica Homerica insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1967); mit dem Titcl “Griechi- sche Baukunst in geometrischcr Zeit” veranlasst. Auf S. 91 sagt er in Bczug auf das “mcgaron” von Teli Tainat insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(Abb. 14);: “Als aus- gesprochener Fremdkörpcr tritt es im 8. Jahrhundert schlicBlich auch in der nordsyrischcn Architektur auf”.
