Abstract :  Ulusal Kurtuluş Savaşı sonucunda, cumhuriyetin ilk yıllarında en büyük sorun bulaşıcı hastalıklara karşı mücadele idi. Bu yıllarda savaşların neden olduğu sosyo-ekonomik problemler her konuda olduğu gibi sağlık konusunda da mücadeleyi güçleştiriyordu. Yurt içinden ve yurt dışından gelen her türlü bulaşıcı hastalıklara karşı etkili önlemler ve tedbirler alınarak, bunların yayılmasının önüne geçilmiştir. Hükümetlerin aldıkları bu tedbirler sayesinde bir zamanların korkutucu olan salgın hastalıkları veba, kolera, trahom, verem ve tifo günümüzde artık görünmez olmuştur.   Abstract At the end of the National Liberation War and the early years of Republican period, the most important problem was to fight against endemic diseases. İn these years, the war was making difficult to fight against health problems like other socio-economic problems caused by the war, Inadequacy of healthy human resources was also a main problem. Bffective measures implemented by the state against the diseases coming from domestic and international processes significantly reduced the effects of these diseases. Thanks to the measures taken by the governments, fatal disease like cholera, plague, tuberculosis, trachoma have disappeared now.
