Abstract :From the moment Kazakhstan gained its independence, the issue of transition to Latin graphics was on the agenda. Since then, Kazakhstan has been actively involved in translating the typewriter into Latin script, linguist-researchers and research institutes have sent several models of graphics to their government and parliament. Renewal of Latin graphics can be seen as another great step towards strengthening our sovereignty. In the article the author reviews the history of the transition to Latin script by reviewing the history of the various writing charts of the Turkic peoples used at different times. The adoption of the Latin script of Kazakhstan, which has gained independence, is another step taken to boost sovereignty.
