Abstract :Tropikal ve yarı-tropikal okyanuslarda dağılım gösteren Balon balıkları, Süveyş Kanalı aracılığı ile Akdeniz’e en çok göç eden türleri içeren familyalardan biri olan Tetradontidae familyasına dâhildirler. Akdeniz’in önemli yabancı türleri arasında yer alan bu türler, yeni ortamlarına Kızıldeniz’dekine benzer şekilde adaptasyon sağlamışlardır.
