Abstract :Plants have been utilized to treat a wide range of diseases in Turkey. Dental caries is the most common infectious disease affecting humans. This paper was documented traditional knowledge on medicinal plants used to treat oral and dental diseases in Turkey. Pharmacological and phytochemical studies for each species were also reviewed. According to result of this study, 76 medicinal plants belonging to 30 families were reported. Toothache was the disorder treated by the highest number of species insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(41 taxa);, followed by oral wounds insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(17 taxa);. The most common used medicinal plant species was Hyoscyamus niger L.
