Abstract :Objective: This study aimed to adapt the Trait Emotional Intelligence Scale (TEIS) into Turkish and to examine its psychometric properties. Method: A total of 778 adults aged 18 to 63 (M = 37.79, SD = 12.15) participated in the study. Of the participants, 417 were female (53.6%) and 361 were male (46.4%). Confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to assess construct validity, and convergent validity was tested with the Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale and Mentalizing Scale. The scale\\\'s reliability was examined using internal consistency, test-retest, and split-half methods. Results: Confirmatory factor analysis findings indicated that the original three-factor structure of the scale was confirmed in the Turkish sample, especially the bifactor model had the best fit indices. Convergent validity results revealed that the scale exhibited significant relationships with relevant constructs. Reliability analyses demonstrated adequate internal consistency and temporal stability. Conclusion: The findings demonstrate that the Turkish version of the Emotional Intelligence Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for Turkish society. Keywords : Duygusal zeka, geçerlik, güvenirlik
