Abstract :New ligand; 2-insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1,1-dimethoxymethane); thio-5- insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(phenyl);-1,3,4-oxadiazole insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(L);insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(3); and its complexes with Mninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, Feinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(III);, Coinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, Niinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II);, Cdinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); and Zrinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(IV);, have been synthesized and characterized on the basis of physicochemical investigations including infrared and electronic spectroscopy,magnetic moment measurements, molar conductance and elemental analysis. The structures of the compounds and some complexes have been investigated by X-ray powder diffraction and H1NMR spectra. was recorded on broker shield 300 MHz using deutrated DMSO-d6 as a solvent. for ligand. They have been found to have the formula; [M L insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(H2O);3Cl]Cln; M= Mninsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II ); n = 1, insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(4); and M=  Feinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(III);, n = 2  insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(5);,  [ML insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(H2O); Cl);] Cl , M=. Coinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(7);, Cdinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(II); insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(8);and [NiLCl2]insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(6); ,[ZrOLinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(H2O); Cl2]Cl2 insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(9);, in molar ratio 1:1. Infrared spectral data suggest that the ligand L: behaves as a, bidentate ligand with N,S, donor sequence towards the metal ions. According to the above physicochemical data, octahedral and tetrahedral geometries were assigned for the complexes.
