Abstract :Batı bilimi ya da garbiyatçılık olarak Türkçeye çevrilebilecek olan `oksidentalizm`, kavramını Arapçadan aktarılarak dilimizde de kullanılan garbiyatçılık ve istigrab terimleri karşılar. Bu itibarla bu ilimle ilgilenenler de müsteşrikin karşıt anlamlısı olarak müstagrip diye nitelenir.
