Abstract :The article defines the essence of food security in the context of economic globalization. Economic globalization has inevitably brought the problem of food security in the category of the most pressing and urgent problems of humanity. The problem of food security of the population was under active consideration by the international community in relation to the socio-economic processes in developing countries since the mid 70`s of the twentieth century.
