Abstract :The article is devoted to consideration of the issues concerning the motives of some toponyms reflecting mythological cognition in Kazygurt regional toponymy. The study revealed the sequence and place of topinimic layers based on certain types of worldview and language mentality. Based on scientific studies, some of the hydronomic names that are the most primitive examples of the mythological knowledge associated with water in the regional toponymy of Kazygurt are scientifically substantiated.
