Abstract :Over the past decades, the world is rapidly moving towards a new type of economy, where digital technologies are becoming the main instrument for its formation. In modern conditions, information technologies and digital transformation are the main factor of technological change and the condition for ensuring competitiveness. The article deals with e-government and the digital government that comes to replace it. Digital government technologies are aimed at full-scale digitalization of government mechanisms, production practices and the provision of public services through the use of shared infrastructure. Special attention is paid to the problems of transition to digital government, increasing the openness of government mechanisms and their orientation to the end user.
