Abstract :The active exchange of information between peoples and civilizations was and is an indispensable condition for the development of human society. A special role in this process has been played by caravan roads, which since ancient times have united peoples and states, which have served as guides for both economic and cultural exchange and interaction between civilizations. One of such remarkable roads, the history of which is of unquenchable interest over the past two centuries, is the Great Silk Road, linking in ancient times and medieval China, India, Central Asia, Middle and Middle East, Europe.
