Abstract :This study examines the intersection of the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and the Gaza conflict, exploring how geopolitical tensions influence regional connectivity projects. The IMEC, envisioned as a counterbalance to China’s Belt and Road Initiative, aims to enhance trade routes between India and Europe via the Middle East. However, the October 7 Hamas attack and subsequent Israeli military responses have significantly disrupted regional stability, impacting diplomatic relations and economic ambitions. This paper analyzes the cascading effects of military interventions on the IMEC’s progress, particularly in the wake of U.S. policy shifts and Saudi-Israeli normalization efforts. The study also considers President Trump’s controversial proposal to transform Gaza into a U.S.-controlled economic hub, raising questions about sovereignty, displacement, and global opposition. Amid these geopolitical shifts, the IMEC’s viability hinges on the ability of stakeholders to navigate economic ambition and security concerns while addressing the human cost of conflict. The research highlights that the corridor’s future depends on sustained diplomacy and inclusive regional cooperation, as its success or failure will shape broader power dynamics in the Middle East and beyond.
