Abstract :The aim of this study, in which populism is treated as a form of political discourse used by politicians who want to preserve the current power or influence the people, isto qualitatively demonstrate the dimensions of populism that exists in political discourse in Turkey. For this purpose, the political discourse of the Leaders of the Justice and Development Party insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AKP); and the Republican People`s Party insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CHP); will be discussed and examined through their parliamentary speeches.In this study, speeches of the leaders after the Coup Attempt on 15th July 2016 will be analysed based on the Essex School Discourse Theory, which was led by Laclau and Mouffe. On behalf of a comparative analysis specifically, the current study will contribute to the relevant area in terms of demonstrating how the discoursein Turkish politics is built withinthe populisms by the government in power and by the mainopposition party.
