Abstract :The aim of this article is to establish where music stands in the classification of sciences. Muslim scientists borrowed the classification of sciences from the ancient Greek and developed it with a new approach. Music occupies a special place in their classification of the sciences. The scholars who have an opinion about Music are comprised of Philosophers, Scholars of Religion, Mathematicians, Historian and so on. Music, which has theoretical and practical aspects, is viewed as a science within the boundaries of Philosophy and Mathematics
