Abstract :Aim: To determine whether the use of calf tongue simulator in episiotomy repair increases the knowledge and skill level of the students. Materials and Methods: The study in the form of a single-group “pretest-posttest” pretrial was carried out in April 2019 with students of midwifery insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(n=66);. During episiotomy repair simulation training, suture techniques insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(simple suturing, locking loop suturing and vertical matrix); were shown by using calf tongue simulators. The data were collected by using a personal information form, while the Episiotomy Knowledge Levels Assessment Form and Episiotomy Repair Skill Levels Assessment Form were used for the pretest and posttest. Results: As a result of the simulation training, increases were observed in episiotomy knowledge and repair skill levels in comparison to the pre-training period insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(p<0.05);. Conclusion: As a result of the study, it was determined that episiotomy repair training given to students with a calf tongue simulator achieved increases in their knowledge and skill levels in comparison to pre-test result. Simulator examples that can be used for episiomy repair can be added to the midwifery education curriculum.
