Abstract :Art historians have developed cognitive models that are art-specific, related to aspects such as style and art historical significance. Today, advanced technology helps art historians to detect a particular object`s date, its material structure, provenance or history of ownership, maker, authenticity, worth and so forth. Using these technologies is also important for conservation and restoration field. Technical art history allow art historians to collaborate with scientists and conservators, this collaboration is clearly very helpful for the better understanding of artworks.
