Abstract :Relations with the Middle East have not been covered in publications about the renowned International Summer Courses for New Music in Darmstadt for many years. This article aims to provide an overview of the relationship between Internationales Musikinstitut Darmstadt and musicians as well as institutions in Turkey, Egypt, Israel, Iran, and Lebanon between 1949 and 2021 based on materials gathered from the IMD Archiv, private archives, interviews, and specialized literature.
