Abstract :Aim: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between nurses\\\' evaluations of their work environment and levels of tendency towards medical errors. Material and Method: The population of this cross-sectional study consisted of nurses working in Malatya province a University Hospital. Since the study aimed to cover the entire population, no sample size was calculated and in the research, no any sample selection method was used. The research was completed with 219 nurses who participated in the research voluntarily. Data were collected using the \\\"Personal Information Form\\\", \\\"Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index\\\" and the \\\"Medical Error Tendency Scale in Nursing\\\". Results: The nurses’ “Practice Environment Scale-Nursing Work Index” total mean score was calculated as 2.3 ± 0.57, suggesting that their attitudes towards work environment was moderate. In addition, the nurses’ “Medical Error Tendency Scale” in Nursing total mean score was calculated as 227.86±28.66, suggesting that they had low medical error tendency. A weak positive relationship was found between the nurses’ “Practice Environment Scale-Nurse Work Index” and “Medical Error Tendency Scale in Nursing” total mean scores. Conclusion: It was found that nurses\\\' evaluation of their work environment were at a moderate level and their tendency to make medical errors was at a low level, and their tendency to make medical errors decreased as their perceived work environment increased positively.Keywords : Çalışma ortamı, Hemşireler, Tıbbi hataya eğilim
