Synthesis of Polymer-Coated Magnetic Nanoparticles to the Surface of Activated Carbon and Kinetic Studies

Abstract :In the presented study, itwas investigated the synthesis of activated carbon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(AC);, magnetic activated carbon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(MagAC);, styrene-butadiene styrene magnetic activated carbon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SBS/MagAC); and poly charbonatmagnetic activated carbon insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(PC/MagAC); samples. Thermogravimetric Analyzer insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(TGA);, Differential Scanning Calorimeter insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(DSC);, Scanning Electron Microscope insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SEM);, X-Ray Diffractometer insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(XRD);, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(FTIR analysis);, Brunauer-Emmett-Tellerinsert ignore into journalissuearticles values(BET); analysis were used for characterizationstudies.Adsorbent type, temperature, solid-liquid ratio, initial concentrations and solution pH were selected as parameters in experiments. The experimental study was carried out at low pH yields were higher and performance was 98-99% in AC and Mag/AC samples. It was found that the polymer coated magnetic materials did not perform very well at high pH. It was also seen that MagAC and SBS/MagAC are more effective than AC and PC/MagAC to remove phenol.Keywords : Styrene Butadiene Styrene, Polycarbonate, ctivated Carbon, ctivated Carbon, Activated Carbon, Magnetic Adsorbent, Phenol
