Abstract :The article discusses the issues of 15 coal producers, which were registered at the coal deposits «Karakeche», «Кok-Moinok», «Min-Kush», 10 of which are functioning, and the rest 5 have suspended operations due to lack of funds. Analysis of the activities of the coal mines revealed a number of problems, which affect the prospects of the coal mining industry as a whole. This article proposes the measures to address the problems, and improve the situation in the coal mining industry. All the problems mentioned in the article can be resolved with a strict control, transparent accounting management of the coal from the mine to its implementation, compliance with all accounting principles, providing accurate information on income and expenditure of coal mines, etc. Prospects of development of the coal mining industry are huge, but they require special attention of the Kyrgyz Government to attract investments, which should lead to the prosperity of the industry as a whole, and eventually the economy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
