Abstract :Accession of Kazakhstan in the Eurasian Union is explained by the objective and subjective factors. With the activation of the integration processes more questions and fears have increased. Quick realization of Eurasian integration is being implemented due to political and even geopolitical reasons than the pure economic ones. What are the drivers behind the swift creation of the union of Russia and Kazakhstan? What is the philosophy of the integration? What will define the future of the union, economy or policy? In this paper we tried to answer these and not less other important questions from the viewpoint of geopolitics. As we see it, in the Eurasian integration there is more policy than economy. Kazakhstan and Russia have to agree on the ideological principles, political ideals and economic values of the union. Otherwise, the basis of the Eurasian union will not be strong enough and its life will not last more than two decades.
Keywords : policy, economy, integration, Russia, Kazakhstan, Eurasianism, Eurasian Union, competition, threat
