Abstract :This study aims to provide general information about the tourism resources of the Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan and to substantiate the importance of implementing the principles of sustainable tourism development for the rational use of the tourism potential. Jalal-Abad region is a place with a pronounced tourist potential. Tourism destinations of the region are visited mainly by Kyrgyz citizens. The number of foreign tourists who visit the region is increasing. Destination `Arstan-Bap` is very popular plaсe for tourists in the summer. Very large number of tourists visit the small waterfall, which is located at the destination of Arstan-Bap. It is a big problem for the natural environment. Tourism in the Jalal-Abad region is developing unstably. In the process of analysis, the author identified some problems and suggested ways to solve them. The author believes that it is necessary to pursue a state policy aimed at regulating the number of tourists. The cooperation of the state, business and local communities plays an important role in protecting the natural environment.
