Abstract :The article provides a general assessment of the economic and social situation in the USSR and, in particular, in the Kyrgyz SSR, during the Great Patriotic War. Some facts about the contribution of the Kyrgyz SSR to the victory are presented. The Soviet Union was able to create in a short time such an economic system that steadily served the ever-increasing demands of wartime and ensured the stable operation of all sectors of the country`s economy. The assessment of the readiness of the people for self-sacrifice in the name of victory, preservation of the country`s integrity for the sake of future generations is given.
