Abstract :The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between school administrators’ favoritism behaviors and the level of organizational depression based on teachers’ perceptions. The study, conducted through the correlational survey model, consisted of a sample of 459 teachers working in public schools located in the city center of Samsun and the districts of Havza, Kavak, Ladik, and Vezirköprü during the 2024–2025 academic year. The sample is determined according to simple random sampling. In order to collect data, the “Favoritism in School Administration Scale” developed by Erdem and Meriç (2012) and the “Organizational Depression Scale” developed by Sezer (2011) were used. All statistical analyses of the study were performed using the SPSS 14.0 program, and the level of significance was set at a minimum of 0.05. The findings of the study indicate that the level of perceived favoritism by administrators is low, while teachers’ perceptions of organizational depression are at a moderate level. The results reveal a positive and high-level relationship between school administrators’ favoritism behaviors and teachers’ organizational depression levels based on teachers’ perceptions. The results of the regression analysis show that school administrators’ favoritism behaviors explain 51.6% of the variance in perceived organizational depression levels. Keywords : okul yöneticisi, öğretmen, kayırmacılık, örgütsel depresyon
