Abstract :In the current study, the first three years of Osmanlı Ziraat ve Ticaret Gazetesi, which began its publication in Izmir in 1907 and continued until 1912, have been examined. The newspaper aimed to introduce modern European agricultural and trade techniques, emphasising education, mechanisation, corporatisation, and agrarian reforms. It avoided political content, thus protecting itself from the censorship and pressures of the time. The study explores the newspaper’s efforts to introduce European agricultural techniques and trade methods to Ottoman farmers and merchants in modernising agriculture and trade. It also examines the connection between the reform processes of that period and today’s agricultural innovations and policies.
