Abstract :In this study, base shear and inelastic displacement limits of seismic isolation systems are presented through acceleration-displacement response spectra considering the ground motion and design provisions of the Turkish Building Seismic Design Code. A series of nonlinear response history analyses are performed using a combination of eight site-specific design spectra, six isolation systems having six different periods and five yield levels. As a result, eight spectra presented herein can be used for the preliminary design stage of seismic isolation systems in Turkey.
