Abstract :In this study, the possible improvement of the antibacterial and washing resistance performance of 100% cotton fabrics were investigated. The purpose of this research was to evaluate 1,2,3,4-butantetracarboxylic acid insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(BTCA);, citric acid monohydrate insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(CA); and sodium hypophosphite insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(SHP); as an crosslinking agent for washing resistance of 100% cotton textile substrates against, Staphylococcus aureus insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ATCC 43300);, Bacillus subtilis insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(NRRL NRS-744);, Escherichia coli insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ATCC 35218); and Klebsiella pneumoniae insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(ATCC 70063);. Cupper oxide and zinc oxide were assimilated in the coating bath for the antibacterial property. BTCA concentration in the solutions influenced the antibacterial and washing properties of the cotton fabrics. 3% BTCA and 3% CA usage was found to be the optimum concentration ratio. The Fourier Transform Infra-Red -Attenuated Total Reflection insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(FTIR-ATR); spectra showed a new summit that confirmed the ester linkage formation and crosslinking reaction for application. Keywords : Antibacterial, cotton fabric, copper oxide, zinc oxide, washing resistance
