Abstract :Özet: Bu çalışmada Türkiye`de 1989:01-2001 :07 döneminde Fisher Hipotezi`nin geçerliliği araştırılmıştır. Eşbütünleşim Testi sonuçlarına göre test sonuçlarına göre söz konusu hipotezin ele alınan dönemde Türkiye açısından geçerli olmadığı sonucuna varılmıştır. VAR modeli sonuçlarına göre faiz oranlarının fiyatlar genel düzeyi üzerindeki etkisinin oldukça zayıf olduğu; buna karşılık fiyatlar genel düzeyinin faizler üzerinde önemli bir etkisi olduğu saptanmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Fisher Etkisi, Fisher Hipotezi, Enflasyon, Faiz Oranları.   Abstract: In this study, it is tried to determine the validity of Fisher Hypothesis by using monthly data 1989:01-2001:7 period for Turkey. According to the results of cointegration analysis, the Fisher Hypothesis was rejected for Turkey in this period. Aceording to the results of VAR analysis, the effect of interest rates over priees was weak while the effect of priees over interest rates was strong.
