Abstract :Doğu`dan deniz yoluyla gelen ticaret malları Basra Körfezindeki liman şehirlerine indirilir ve bu şehirlerden diğer Arap ülkelerine ve Osmanlı toprakları yoluyla Avrupa ülkelerine dağıtılırdı. Bugün Suudi Arabistan`ın Doğu Vilayetinin önemli petrol merkezlerinden biri olan Katif bu şehirlerden biri idi. Daha son zamanlara kadar ticaret ve inci merkezi olarak önemini muhafaza eden Katif bugün güzel bahçeleri ve petrol kuleleri ile dikkati çekmektedir.
