Abstract :III üncü Murad\`ın oğlu Sultan Üçüncü Mehmed\`in insert ignore into journalissuearticles values(1595-1603); Selim, Mahmud, Ahmed, Cihangir ve Mustafa isimlerinde beş oğlu olmuştu; bunlardan ilk oğlu Selim 1005 Ramazan 3 H. 1597 Nisan 20 de rivayete göre ondört yaşında, kızılca hastalığından vefat ederek Ayasofya camii hariminde ceddi ikinci Selim\`in türbesine defnedilmiş ve cihangir de babasının son senelerine doğru küçük iken vefat etmiştir. İkinci oğlu ve hamiyetli bir şehzade olan Mahmud ise aşağıda görüleceği üzere onaltı yaşında boğulmak suretiyle vefat ettiğine göre 995 h 1587 M de doğmuştur.
